Often we turn
our backs on the #sea
stand stubbornly
on the #sand
feet planted
hoping blindly
that #waves will not come for us
even though we can already feel them
lapping at our toes
But what if we turned
to face them
moved towards them
let our hearts be torn open
so that our souls
can fly #free
Have you laid down recently beneath a tree?
Staring up into the branches as they spiral to the Sky
Feel the breeze kiss your cheeks while it dances with the leaves
Let the ease seep in
As your limbs soften on the ground
The beat of your heart slowing
As you allow yourself to take root

Day 3 of sharing my #poems - Beneath a tree...
Day 2 of sharing my poems...
This is more prose than poetry perhaps, but it is a sample of some of the words that tumble out while I try to make sense of what is in my heart on one day of my daily woodland wanders.
I just want to live in a country where the leader canβt enrich themselves with our tax dollars, the government does what the people want, and the wealthy have to follow the laws.
You know, like a democracy.
Sharing one of my poems every day this week, as I try to get back into the habit of writing them up and not just filling notebooks w scribbles in the woods...

Today, I'm thinking and writing about ordinary paths. Not the spectacular paths through jaw-dropping landscapes that intend to wow and seduce us. But the gentler, everyday paths that love us quietly, like a partner who reaches out to take our hand when we need reassurance.

The birdβs glossy black feathers show a subtle iridescent sheen, while its pale, bare greyish-white skin around the base of the long, slightly curved grey bill contrasts sharply with the dark plumage. The rookβs round brown eye is sharply in focus, giving an alert, watchful expression.

16.02.2026 06:40 β π 394 π 61 π¬ 40 π 2A very bedraggled-looking Little Owl is slumped in the hollow of a tree, eyes half-closed and feathers ruffled. Its expression is one of pure exhaustion, as if it has just rolled out of bed and immediately regretted it. Nestled in its cosy nook, it appears utterly unprepared for the day ahead, radiating the unmistakable energy of someone who desperately needs a strong coffee before dealing with anything remotely productive.
Mood: unprepared and under-caffeinated.

As old systems crumble, therapists can play a vital role as midwives of the change, facilitating the birth (or rebirth) of something new or previously hidden.

Today as I stepped into the #woods, what struck me was the vibrancy of the moss, so green it almost seemed to glow, so alive so vibrant. Even when the world feels heavy and grey, there is #joy to be found if we remember to look.

Frog in a pond
Two thirds of all freshwater species are supported by ponds, but the number of ponds in the UK plummeted in the 20th century. So garden ponds are vital for biodiversity - and creating one could help frogs, toads, dragonflies, bats, hedgehogs, swiftsβ¦

A group of children and an adult are planting a young tree in a grassy area. The children are wearing bright green safety vests and raincoats, and the adult is using a shovel to add soil around the tree base. These 2 #trees π Standing together in the middle of a field, and they always make me smile. They remind me a little of an old married couple. Quite different #characters, yet always together side by side they grow, and you just know they wouldn't be the same if they didn't have each other. #nature
