Several more days till my bluebird eggs start to hatch. My pear tree has begun blossoming. Still have raindrops on them from last night's storms.

Robinson eggs are quite a bit larger and frequently speckled.

Not that tricky. The birdhouse they lay in has a slot just under the roof just large enough to slide a smart phone into. Dont have to upset the nest just slide the phone in and get a quick pick.

I do have rat snakes here but they've never been a problem in the nesting boxes. I did once have a nest full of hatchings swarmed by firearms. Horrible.

From pictures I've seen western bluebirds are even prettier than eastern. Lucky you!

After 5 days of laying we have our 5th eastern bluebird egg. Mom should start sitting on them and they'll hatch in 12 to 14 days. Will update once we have hatchlings.

Spring seems to be here on the gulf coast. Bluebirds are populating their nest and the azaleas are beginning to bloom!

Was tied up with appointments yesterday and didn't get a chance to check the nest. Missed the first egg, and today we have 2 bluebird eggs! We almost always get 5 eggs, so 3 more days should complete the nest.
