Two exhibitions will be closing on January 4, 2026, so don’t miss your opportunity to see Deep-Seated Histories and Future Makers, two chair shows that may have you wondering, “Chairs? Really?” But the reactions speak for themselves. People walk away marveling at the variety and the stories. ⁠

The Work of Repair features three distinct redress initiatives the MOV has taken on, including the repatriation of over 60 belongings to the Tŝilhqot’in community and its emotional impact. ⁠

Living with Long COVID opened in October and provides an intimate look at what one in nine Canadians experience after a COVID infection. ⁠

The Suitcase Project opened Nov. 20. Situated in “gallery 11,” located beyond the 1960s-‘70s gallery, this exhibition asked 4th and 5th generation Japanese Canadians and Americans what they would pack if they were put in the same position as their elders during World War Two. ⁠

Now is a great time to visit the MOV if you want to see a lot. That’s because every single gallery has an exhibition open for viewing!

Inside, you have a choice between the Joyce Walley Room with 13-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and a view of Vanier Park and the North Shore Mountains; and the History Room and Garden Patio—ideal for events with both indoor and outdoor space.

The MOV offers two rooms in our mid-century modern building designed by Gerald Hamilton. Known for his use of New Formalism, the sculptural wall panels and arched windows on the outside of the building make for a beautiful backdrop for wedding and party photos. ⁠
