We don't go into these types of films looking for something. It's all about entertainment. Just turn off your brain and enjoy the ride. It's not gonna be some cinematic masterpiece in the veins of a Pixar film, a Miyazaki film, or the Spider-Verse films. Just a fun and energetic roller coaster ride.

It’s not shocking by Illumination standards, but it’s feels kind of shock that they hold on to this until less than a month before the film’s release.

I watched the whole direct with AniMat in his podcast, and he’s pretty shocked too.

So…about that…it’s voiced by Donald Glover.

Still, it’s pretty impressive.

So let me get this straight.

Someone paid like $12-18 to see a movie in a theater, and then when entering in a theater to see what they have paid for, they suddenly either use their phone/tablet while the movie is playing, or worse, taking or filming in front of a screen.

I know how it feels to be frustrated and upset about situations like this.

Don’t worry, we are with you all the way.

I think Pixar should use the early March slot for their originals going forward. It gives them more breathing room plus positive word of mouth would go a long way with all the spring breaks across the country. They can keep mid-June for the sequels since they're guaranteed hits.

Turning Red was the last one that was pitched when he was there. Domee Shi admitted on Instagram that she pitched it to Pixar on Halloween 2017. The allegations against Lasseter broke out exactly three weeks later. Elemental was the last one that was greenlit under his tenure released.

I really love this new kind of Pixar so far thanks to the new and young talented artist and Daniel Chong already is one of them.

With an engaging story from beginning to end and its strong and emotional environmental message, fantastic animation, awesome cast of characters, and possibly the funniest film from the studio to date with all of the jokes landed harder than it should.

Ok, for real.

This is yet another example of how just because it’s different than what the hopping lamp usually produced, that doesn’t mean that it won’t come out as great as the other classics.

And based of what I heard from the early reactions of those who have seen it…

We are in for something special here.

But before she can be ready to hop into theaters, Pixar already showed the movie early not just through some early screenings, but also some saw it INSIDE the hopping lamp’s headquarters(aka, inside the studio) back in January.

And after having the hopping lamp’s bombastic marketing for an original film in years, Mabel is ready to hop into a beaver in theaters on March 6, 2026 (just yesterday).

A month before the films release, Disney/Pixar promoted Tom like wildfire through promos on social media other than that viral scene and especially through a cute costume version of him at various of places throughout California beginning with the Super Bowl.

And bringing in Mark Mothersbaugh to do the score, making it his first film score for a Pixar film after scoring some of the Cars Toon shorts and Toy Story Toon’s Hawaiian Vacation.

While KPop Demon Hunters was taking over online by storm over Elio, this cutie little lizard, later named Tom, was not far behind as it became everywhere to the point of becoming a meme sensation throughout the summer.

And Disney/Pixar is well aware of that.

That’s right, that little promo that unexpectedly became a viral sensation through a recorded video in the theater is that scene.
