The Supreme Court should preserve the status quo until legal questions are resolved and explain the disposition of cases for the public. They are abdicating basic principles of equity and failing to fulfill their institutional role. They aren’t pretending to try. There isn’t even the veneer of law.

The R word is not a funny, edgy word to throw at people who annoy you on the Internet. It is a medical diagnosis created during the eugenics era that people with intellectual disabilities and families have literally spent years trying to stamp out from polite conversation and public life.

These days the evangelicals I have encountered fall into one of two camps:

-those who sanctify the cruelty
-those who perform disappearing acts
