Quick reaction to Darren Jones’s speech
- good stuff - min leadership, risk appetite, reducing approvals, new models of doing things
- worried about - leaving fundamental reform for later. Structures in centre, depts and public services need addressing now. Danger this is all a bit sticking plaster

I'd challenge and say usually no best way in these contexts more 'better ways' to then adapt to the local context - see Cynefin model Dave Snowden. But generally ... put the person who makes the key decisions at front of the process is better way of doing than constant rounds of admin and triage.

You can't use Falklands as an example, even though it was an away fixture the Argentinians had poor form going into the war and we're weak in most positions. One a premier league outfit would have been very much expected to win.

Doctor uses Reform conference speech to link king’s cancer to Covid vaccine Aseem Malhotra claimed β€˜eminent oncologist’ said jab was β€˜significant factor in the cancer of members of royal family’

This is without any evidence or data to support it. Cancer existed before COVID vaccines. The rise in early onset cancers- going on for decades- is not linked to COVID vaccines. Follow scientists & medical researchers. Not ppl selling snake oil. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

I think you need to go and speak to young people about where they want to hang out and make it safe. These also may not be the places we want them to hang out! We did a project many years ago on this in Norwich which involved going and speaking to groups of teenagers at night - was a real eye opener

Cultural capture threatens regulatory independence - LSE Business Review When regulators work closely with industries, they risk unconsciously adopting the worldview, beliefs and priorities of the very industries they're supposed to oversee.

Some regulatory failures may lie not in corruption or incompetence, but in "cultural capture".
