Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia Thompsons lates blog reflects on the children who suffer as collateral damage in global wars, with many killed and families torn apart amid ongoing violence and unrest.
ππΎ As people of faith, we must continue to advocate for the end of the war. We must be willing to demand the truth & accountability from the US government for the killing of children.

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Racializing Black Women: Equity, Exceptionalism, and Sustaining Resistance . After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.
Black women are often praised for strength, resilience, and endurance, but rarely given space to name the cost. This workshop examines how racism functions as a system of power rather than individual bias, and how Black women, including Black trans and queer women, experience its impacts in work, leadership, relationships, and movement.
Together, we will explore how the demand for exceptionalism emerges as a survival strategy within racialized systems, and how it leads to burnout, disconnection from the body, and conditional belonging. Participants will be invited to reflect on the ways...

The United Church of Christ joins the faith community in strongly condemning the on-going actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as it continues to bring death and violence to the streets of Minneapolis. The use of lethal force on unarmed and non-threatening individuals continues to result in loss of life and injury.
The abduction of people on the streets of major cities, the profiling of individuals, the targeting of immigrants, and the escalation of deportations are violating the human rights of millions. Added to the increased militarization of cities, communities that house some of the most vulnerable now find themselves under siege.
It is time to stop the murdering. It is time to stop the violence. It is time to return peace to our nationβs cities.
