Talking about the 1968 FA Cup Final, here is the photo of the Everton Cup Final Squad, taken in the days before the game at Wembley, and including prints of the autographs of each player. I loved that kit of amber shirts, dark blue shorts and amber socks which was the classic kit of those times.

Unfortunately you are right Sean. I was only 14 at the time and even performing poorly, we should have still won that game. It was summed up when with a few minutes left, Jimmy Husband headed over from close in when Bally was stood behind him waiting to put the ball into the net. ⚽️

Alan Ball collecting his losers medal after the 1968 FA Cup Final. His devastation is clear knowing that we had beaten WBA 6-2 at The Hawthorns a few weeks earlier and had enough good chances to have won the game before it went into extra time and WBA’s Jeff Astle scored the only goal of the game.
