Twenty-one years ago, I made a mix CD to commemorate 2005's music for Seattle Weekly, where I was music editor. I put what I wrote back up for paying subscribers. michaelangelo.substack.com/p/wa027-mich...

β€˜The Godfather Of Punk:' Jonathan Richman, A Roadrunner For Over Half A Century Keeps On - Pollstar News One could say Jonathan Richman marches to the beat of his own drummer, and for the past 30-some odd years keeping that beat is his constant partner Tommy

POLLSTAR: To what do you attribute your longevity? In many ways, you seem like an eternal adolescent.
JONATHAN RICHMAN: Me, young? If so, perhaps gratitude for life itself comes into play.

This is far and away the bleakest chapter in US press history in many decades. Ellison, Bezos, Weiss, Sulzberger to varying degrees have destroyed corporate media as a check on power, and become an arm of the state.

No amount of scorn is sufficient.

Have airstrikes by a hostile foreign country ever produced this outcome? The reactionary centrist blob keeps pretending this is part of a duly considered long-term strategy from Trump but that is not how he operates and even if it was, this is a dumb strategy.

US military says three of its troops killed in first Iran operation casualties Three U.S. service members have been killed and another five have been seriously wounded, in the first casualties of the unfolding U.S. operations against Iran, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

Reports indicate at least 100 children have already been killed in strikes on schools. That is unconscionable.

Three U.S. service members are dead as a result of this entirely preventable war of choice.

The blood of these service members, these children, and every civilian rests in Trump’s hands.

Endangering the public is not. Unlawful activity including blocking roads, intentionally creating hazards and assaultive behavior will not be tolerated.

From what I saw today firsthand it was the sheriffs today constantly escalating at people protesting peacefully. The sheriffs were masked up like ICE while working hard to agitate and provoke the residents they were sworn to protect, all so they could provide security for ICE who murders people.
