The cost of a single Patriot missile would cover all my living expenses comfortably and with money to spare for 400 years.
Here's to a future where budgeting for missiles is forever banished to the context of sci-fi.

NJ's new restrictions on e-bikes are raising serious concerns for riders across the state. We joined @bikejc.org on @biketalk.bsky.social to unpack what the law does, the situation that led us here, and where we go next.
Don't miss the end where we share some hopeful news on #Hoboken Vision Zero!
The bikes-for-transportation community is absolutely charging their cameras to capture video riding past the forthcoming gas station lines.

Anderson Cooper: βSo it's more expensive to have a chronically homeless person living on the streets than it is to actually subsidize an apartment for them?β
Answer: βYes, weβre paying more as taxpayers to walk past that person on the street and do nothing.β #HousingFirst #UrbanTruth
Never forget that the U.S. can always find money for war, but not for education, health care, or to help those in need. This is 100% a choice. And it is 100% the wrong one. www.csis.org/analysis/37-...

Don't let a bunch of oil barons, conspiracy theorists and murderers have the leverage to hold your family hostage and demand you tithe to their false gods:
usa.streetsblog.org/2024/03/25/s...
As a person who lives car-free, the effect this has on me is negligible.
And I hope this spurs more people to demand walkable, bikable, transit-friendly places to live. Fossil fuels have always been a threat to national security and our pocketbooks
We could do $12,000 every year, or better yet, $1,000 every month (or better yet $1,300/mo per person instead of per household of four). And we could do it for everyone instead of only households under $150,000 in annual income and call it universal basic income instead of direct payments.
