Just to add to the variety, we got ~125 miles (36 kWh) in 18 minutes at the Duluth Menardsβ Electrify America chargers this weekend - but we paid about the same as we would for gas.
Normally, we get 3 miles/hr home charging paying about 35% cost of gas.

I really donβt care cars people drive. JoeRad has 4 tickets this year that he has neglected to pay (he often gets sent to collections) and Sarah Clarke got ticketed for months-outdated tabs like 10 days ago.
People routinely acting as if laws donβt apply to them is a much bigger red flag for me.

Frey often says he's got a much thicker skin than when he was first elected eight years ago, but another side of that is his increasing isolation from city, county, and state governing partners β as DeWayne Davis describes.

Minneapolis voters, our current mayor continues to mislead us.
Mayor Frey is fueled by the wealthiest donors. In addition to this there will be 3 political action committees campaigning for his interestsβ thatβs 4 bites at the same wealthy donor base.
Working people deserve better.

oh lmao, I got you. I thought you were saying I was missing something big/obvious in his policy proposals.
I think it'll be a fascinating dynamic to watch the next 3 months. Policy aside, rent control generally polls very well on its own so I am curious to see if Frey & Co make it a focus.

So as someone who has been intentionally plugged into the mayor's race for the past 8-9 months and just sat through a 12-hour convention as an alternate...if you're saying Fateh has a very specific rent control plan that I'm unaware of, I guess I'm skeptical the average voter will know that?
26.07.2025 02:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
I guess I'm just not sure why Fateh's similarly broad language would be seen as more of a mandate for a specific policy than the '21 ballot measure?
Like are his negatives going to reach 2021 City Council levels, when voters took away lots of power but still authorized them to pursue rent control?
26.07.2025 02:34 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0
Will be interesting to watch! In 2021, rent control got 20k more votes than Nezhad/Knuth had 1st place votes.
But weβll obviously have a lot more targeted fear-mongering around it this time without the policing ballot measures in the way.

For a time was obsessed with reforming police arbitration laws.

I hate this, the ROI is basically zero, they're donors' number one complaint, what we need is some heroic campaign aides to start giving out the personal phone numbers of the text spam consultants publicly so we can complain to them personally every time we get a text.

Title: "Republicans want Frey:" followed by a screenshot of a post by Dustin Grage that says, "At this rate every Republican in Minneapolis is going to be voting for Jacob Frey." Below that is text that reads, "In 2024, over 28% of Jacob Frey's donors were Republican donors" next to a graphic of a pie chart where 28% is red. Below that is a thin yellow zig-zag line above a photo of the Minneapolis DFL City Convention with the text over it, "The Minneapolis DFL wnats Omar Fateh" next to a Mpls for the Many logo.
Republican consultant Dustin Grage posted what has long been an open secret: βEvery Republican in Minneapolis is going to be voting for Jacob Frey.β
Thatβs probably why 28% of his donors are Republican donors.
