Editor in Chief at @Artforum.bsky.social. Art historian specializing in video and digital art. Disabled. Cybergoth. Mom. And yes: it's "Artforum," not "Art Forum."
And you can watch me in conversation with @tinariversryan.bsky.social, expanding on some of this here:

For the April episode of βUnder the Cover,β Artforum Editor in Chief @tinariversryan.bsky.social interviews @sonjadrimmer.bsky.social about how a medievalist became interested in AI, the role of AI in the divestment from public and higher education, and more. www.artforum.com/video/sonja-...

Art History has much to say about how AI sees. @tinariversryan.bsky.social draws out key points from @sonjadrimmer.bsky.social's article "Machine Yearning...". Sonja Drimmer = always insightful and fun.
I really enjoyed being in conversation with @tinariversryan.bsky.social to discuss my article in the April issue of @artforum.com. You can check out the recording of our conversation here!

Humbled to have been able to write on DorΓ©'s image of Victorian incarceration and its reverberations (van Gogh, Kubrick, Mangione) for this month's Artforum.

Measles has a 12% mortality rate in unvaccinated young children.
Children cannot be vaccinated until they are at least 12 months old.
And if infants need to be kept home and out of daycare to avoid potentially fatal measles outbreaks...
Guess who that removes from the workforce.

This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights. The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

Just to say it: Diversity is a good thing. Equity is a good thing. Inclusion is a good thing. Accessibility is a good thing.
