It should have stopped after the first school shooting, like in the UK. But the US places a higher value on the individual right to own a weapon rather than the collective good of protecting vulnerable people

What insane world do I live in that I need to accept that I have to be trained to potentially fight off an active shooter. Or right, we live in America. Where people’s lives are less important than guns.

Today I had to sit though my school district’s active shooter training for educators. A few minutes in I felt like I was going to have a panic attack and started doing deep breathing exercises. We were told “you just have to accept that this will never change and it’s part of our culture”.

Good grief that’s chilling
