I loved it but can see why some would hate it. The reader is constantly unmoored and unsure of some of the basics of any story - who, where, what, when, etc. it felt uncanny, illogical, and dreamlike in a way I loved. Prose was simple but worked with the lucid dream atmosphere.

I think the word is evil. I know it’s reserved for comic books and cartoons and ancient religious texts and violent crime and long-past crimes against humanity. But I can think of no other word for such absolute lack of humanity.

Boom, Belgium — In what may become a turning point in the global pursuit of accountability, Belgian federal police have arrested and interrogated two Israeli soldiers credibly accused of war crimes in Gaza. The action came in response to an urgent legal complaint filed by the Hind Rajab Foundation and the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) earlier this week. The suspects were identified and arrested with a clear show of force at the Tomorrowland festival in Boom. After being taken into custody, they were formally interrogated and released. The Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a criminal investigation is now underway.

The only one I can think of at the moment is Zadie Smith’s On Beauty, though it’s more incident than plot.

Aid for Gaza’s starving children is right at the gates. Let it in Israel is blocking 6,000 UNRWA trucks from entering Gaza while children die of hunger. The world can still prevent further catastrophe if it chooses to act.

Canada has a responsibility to act to stop this horror. To accept this is to accept the inhuman. There is NO way to justify the deliberate mass starving to death of children and no other word to use except genocide. @mark-carney.bsky.social - either you support human rights or you support genocide.

Almost every sitting politician in Canada is fine with this. It doesn't bother them. They have no problem with Canada being an ally to a country that does this.
I'd say I don't know how they sleep at night, but it's obvious that they can sleep at night because they don't see Palestinians as humans.
