I know this kinda sounds self centered, and we all know I love a self promo moment, but it’s also super demoralizing to be a child and only see men’s names in the corner of your sheet music. So I hope showing her that I, a woman she knows, can write music, it means she could too.

Today, one of my 8-year-old students became aware that most famous classical composers are men. She flipped through the piano book and asked me if every piece was written by a boy or a girl. So I showed her my instrumental music, because she shouldn’t grow up thinking composing is for boys.

My wife: You smell like onions.

Me: Well, I was eating onions earlier.

My wife: What, like just straight-up? [makes a motion like eating an apple] Like Shrek?

The other big thing I did is I’ve shifted to teaching private lessons full time! No more standing around a theatre for a low wage!

Piano lessons pay my bills, but my favorite lessons to teach are theory/composition lessons, which I primarily teach virtually! DMs are always open for lesson inquiry

Usually, around this time of year I post my aC wrapped. Even last year when I put my channel on hiatus, I was able to do a little aC wrapped with all the creative projects I worked on. Unfortunately, this year I didn’t work on nearly as many individual projects. I did, however, do two major things:

Jonaya and I just played a round of this. My Bubsy decimated her Bubsu. She is currently playing a level of Bubsy for her death save.
