Y'all, I've been WRESTLING a new book for months now. It's been winning! I've been flailing, fumbling & generally feeling inept.
Yesterday: moment of inspiration & after a lot of sweat, effort & teeth gnashing today... I *think* I'm onto something.
π€I really am
I saw that later! You're absolutely right: you miss one day and WOW

Outstanding season of @thetraitors.bsky.social
Terrifically entertaining (and goodness knows we all need a distraction now more than ever)

Oh, cool! Loans are scary, for certain.
For me, it was scarier to keep marching in place. You know?
I hope you pursue it if it's something that will bring you joy.
I was 44.5 when I graduated w/my PhD. Doing this at 30? Pfft. That's nothing! You've got this!!!
It was definitely different than going in my teens/ early 20s.
I had to be very disciplined with my time. The loans scared me but less than continuing to not pursue the thing I wanted most.
What are you thinking of going to school for? That's exciting!
15 years ago today I got word that I was funded in a PhD program
Wow. Look at that. 15 years ago today, I got the news that would utterly change the trajectory of my life.
So grateful. It's never too late to pursue your wildest dreams. I was 40+ at the time.

Coral roses, yellow flowers, bouquet
I'll say it again, I have the SWEETEST students. An intro student brought to these to me. Love the color of the roses! But also just such a lovely and thoughtful thing to do. Grief has made things challenging lately, and these make me smile every time I look at them.

Unbelievable that today marks 9 years since my beautiful, kind, funny boy left this plane. I don't know how we survive every day without him.
Miss him every day, but today is particularly hard. "Grief is all the love that now has nowhere to go."

Sigh. Today was a no good, very bad day.
But the bright spot was being delivered cookies by a very sweet girl scout, who spent time talking with me about the items in my office (a lot of sentimental items in there). Really brightened my day.
Is 2 the limit, though? π€

Well, a new study finds that when patients turn to chatbots for health advice, they end up taking the wrong steps and getting the wrong diagnosis more than half the time.
