Student support & guidance services to be cut too: the very people who help learners stay on course when life gets hard.
Behind every qualification is a story of someone who was supported, listened to, and believed in, when no-one else did. Student, staff and families in tears over this! 😢

college nursery could close too another lifeline gone for parents trying to study, work, or retrain.

How are families meant to build a future when every route to opportunity is being cut away? 💜

Students who haven’t achieved National 5 or Higher Maths or English and rely on college routes to get on track?
If these opportunities disappear, how are they meant to achieve, progress, or find their path forward? Where will they end up?

Today I told stories of creative schools at a gatherng of 200+ @thriveapproach.bsky.social practitioners. One of those was Our Lady of Lourdes Primary in @westlothiancouncil.bsky.social , who was named top primary in Scotland for their attainment outcomes. Who helped them get there? Teddy Bears!

Trauma-informed (TI) approaches involves more than just recognising that trauma affects people. It's about joining the dots and then BEING the change. Real TI approaches are so hard to find, many are not able to make change that is needed as they haven't experienced true TI approaches themselves.
