Entirely possible, regardless of the outcome though it appears to be a kick it down the road as far as possible with as little pain as possible until Trump no longer has control (whatever that means). As for the legality of Tariffs it seems like even his own people are betting against it.

This is probably the right play though, and it appears that pretty much every country is just trying to placate now, and keep the tariffs as low as possible, while diversifying, until Trump gives up under internal pressure (which will be intensifying drastically as prices go up) or loses power.

From an economic perspective both sides lose when any tariff is instituted whether that's the Trump tariff or the one we do in retaliation so yah. Politically though, not punching back when you get punched is always a weak look.

No, the oil companies have made that. A chunk goes into government revenues but the pipeline itself is not "half paid off" it's getting per volume tolls, and probably won't be paid off for 30 years.

Everyone says Trump is making all the wrong moves on this. I would say he's making all the wrong moves on this IF HE'S INNOCENT. If he's not innocent then he's making the right moves; delay as long as possible and probably die before he ever faces justice.
