The hypocrisy from a lot of them just annoys me so much, I don’t care too much about balance since most of the games I played with friends and won I was using Mario, I just hate it when peeps are like, “game is bad because character too good, anyway time to go play super fox bros melee”

Like I said I’m aware that my info’s probably out of date and I’ve been flip flopping on giving it another shot anyway recently
Only thing that sucks is I’d have to either play it on Wii or on emu since my disc is scratched and there’s no resurfacing place near me

I just figured it was worth mentioning since some people will say they hate a game and then you look and they only hate it ‘cause they suck lol

Also I feel like I should mention, it's not me sucking that makes me hate Melee. I've played it with others before and I won almost every match so I'm not salty over old losses. I'd probably suck NOW, but tbf that was ages ago and I'm rusty since my disc got scratched

I'm willing to admit that things have likely changed on the community and accessibility side of things, like I said before I've held these opinions for a very long time so I'm not going off of current info, but baseline is that whenever I play it, it's just not fun.

Yes I know most fighters aren't balanced, but again, citing Brawl Meta Knight, 4 Bayo and Cloud, early Ult Pichu and Inkling, late Ult Steve, and I'm sure there's more. I don't hate that the game's unbalanced, I hate that the community doesn't care about it for Melee specifically

You say that unbreakable combos don't make a bad fighter and yet that's one of the biggest complaints with Brawl Meta Knight, 4 Bayo/Cloud and Ult Steve

Regrabbing isn't that bad but again, big complaint for Climbers in Melee and Brawl

Honestly I brought up single player 'cause you did earlier when talking about ult

And I'm willing to admit that no, I haven't been following Melee so my opinions are outdated, I'm not trying to pretend they're not

TL;DR: Unbalanced, unwelcoming to newcomers, awful hitboxes, clipping, regrabbing, unbreakable combos, the meta is so unfair that you need to be a god player if you don't wanna play Fox, extremely glitchy, no story in the "story mode", and the absolute worst community I've ever seen.

- Continuing on non viable characters, most players will choose fox as he is the best character in the game with no others aside Falco coming close to him. In order for anyone to beat a Fox with anyone else, you need to be extraordinarily skilled making comp matches unfair and uninteresting

- Mediocre at best story mode, not any better or worse than Ultimate so idk why that's even being considered
- INSANE unlock requirements for Mewtwo, needing 20hrs in vs to unlock despite how awful of a character he is

- All characters have insane beginning and ending lag on all moves(I have played on og gamecube btw)
- Kept alive by toxic nostalgia dickriders who will go out of their way to smite anyone else with a different opinion(has happened to me and others several times)

- Completely unbalanced, there are very few viable characters
- Awful hitboxes
- Clipping through even tournament viable stages(FD)
- The game adds 12 characters, 6 of which are clones
- Extremely high skill ceiling, newcomer unfriendly
- Horrific UI

I yearn for the day people realize melee is objectively the absolute worst game in the series
