13.01.2025 18:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How can anyone expect a new Β£10 dress to be made in any way that involves an ethical supply chain? And the amount of *stuff* constantly produced is depressing - apart from all the CO2, I visualise the Earth literally starting to sink under the weight.

I just posted on another platform (L..I...) about sessions I've facilitated with various groups through my work this year. It was actually affirming to pause and remember, as I feel the year has past in a flash. This article resonated.

I'm so grateful to have been invited to contribute to the current @resurgencetruswww.resurgence Resurgence & Ecologist magazine. This issue's theme is 'The Gift of Life'. I explore, through my own personal experiences, how that interacts with the world of work.

This is the sort of thing I loved when I lived in Germany - that was back in the 90s. Even then, the Germans were so ahead of the UK in terms of their awareness of wellbeing and care for the planet. I remember they used the word "wellness" then, when we didn't...

A mandate requiring employees to work full time in the office (where not necessary for the role) will clearly damage their brand as an employee of choice. Don't these companies realise this impact? This feedback from recruiters is not surprising.

23.11.2024 09:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you haven't yet seen the Melvin Sheldrake documentary on Fungi on iplayer, I'd hugely recommend it ('Fungi: web of life'). Whether you're partial to immersing yourself in the world of fungi or not, it'll be worth 40 minutes of your time. It's beautiful, fascinating and humbling (as a human).
23.11.2024 08:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0...but that also includes work being done for a purpose that actually makes a positive difference in the world...at a broader level than an employing organisation simply proving people with 'work' . Right, nuff said from me!
23.11.2024 08:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0...if we start to accept that it's part of life, not a separate add on, perhaps we'll all start with the premise that work should be enriching and meaningful, not just for those who 'do it' but also in terms of the ripple effect in society and the world in general...
23.11.2024 08:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I fully support that, Perry. So many people, organisations and perhaps wider communities accept 'work' as something you have to just 'get through' or tolerate in return for the financial reward you need to support the remaining part of your life that isn't work. Work if of course part of life...

I was pondering on what to post as my first Blue Sky post (is there a name for it, like 'tweet' on Twitter in old money?) I decided that even just the name 'Blue Sky' makes me think of inspiration. A source of inspiration for me atm is this wonderful podcast series.
