27.01.2026 21:13 β π 9 π 6 π¬ 2 π 0I fear what they are doing is harming the reputations of both the Abundance and Transhumanist movements, two social movements I think are of critical importance to the flourishing of humanity. 5/5
17.12.2025 15:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Pumping out hype and blind techno-optimism is core to their business model.
If Diamandis and SingularityU were actually something good for the world with all the money they were pulling in, I might be OK with what they are doing, but as far as I can tell they are not. 4/5
I think we are collectively too techno-pessimistic, but I also am very much against hype and willful blindness to the downsides of new technologies. 3/5
17.12.2025 15:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Furthermore, βSingularity Universityβ is a not actually a university! Instead of providing a valuable education and fostering serious inquiry, they sell canned hype to corporate clients. They capitalize on peopleβs fears about being left behind the curve. 2/5
17.12.2025 15:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am not a fan of Peter Diamandiss and Singularity University!
Their βAbundanceβ conferences are scamy networking events for the ultra-rich. The conference appears increasingly out-of-touch in the light of the growing Abundance movement, which is actually focused on realizing abundance for all! 1/5

16.11.2025 16:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Your attack on Colossal looks foolish given the significant progress they have achieved recently. That's actually false - have you looked at affirmative action statistics ie test scores by ethnicity at medical schools or top schools? Affirmative action is about hiring more of a certain ethnicity than would normally get hired on a purely merit-based system. The idea is to start a virtuous cycle..
