Also there are not enough sailors to man the few assets they have.

Turning is not necessarily generating...

They get paid hundreds of millions not to feed the grid on days like this when it's blowing a hoolie.
They don't get penalised for not producing when we need it.
( During spells of no wind ).

Heads they win, tails we lose.

2/ Beatrice Offshore wind farm was paid Β£417 million in its latest financial year for delivering 2,044.2 GWh (2.04 million MWh) of electricity. So the cost was:

417 / 2.04 = Β£204/MWh

That’s more than double the wholesale price in the current Ofgem price cap, which is Β£83/MWh.

Come back in January when a high-pressure area is over the country for ten days.

My niece has written off two cars this year. She's twenty next year. One in a car park, the other last week on ice.

I have one. Its great.

Anything that produces an image you can pass round your friends without someone pressing the wrong button by accident is an improvement to the present situation of ' seen once ' never again.

Both sides picking the bits that most suits their case.

Meanwhile in the real world people are laughing at this charade and wondering at all the money being made out of nothing.

So much concern for the trivial affairs of the comfortable, the well off and the hobby intelligensia.

An aside. I can still picture the nurses looking out the Nightingale ward windows illuminated by the light of the Cheapside whisky bond fire in 1960 when I was there to be separated from my appendix..

Success beyond their wildest dreams.
Twenty years ago Putin could never have imagined how the western alliances would collapse like this.

Yes. We haven't learned at all though. Powerful, moneymaking forces are still at work.
I watched the Wyndford towers getting built. I took photos of them and visited them brand new.
Just to watch them destroyed last spring.
What a monumental waste of public money.

It was on the telly.

It saddens me because the housing being built now is entirely unsuitable for our needs sixty years from now.
And we know it.

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.

Edinburgh tram track death cyclist named Zhi Min Soh, 23, was from Kuala Lumpur and was a medical student at Edinburgh University.

These sunken rails and similar tramlines were deadly if you got your bicycle wheel caught in the groove...
They are still killing people in Edinburgh but I suppose statistics weren't kept until recently.
