Good point. I wonder what the trade off would be between paying an adequate family wage to lowest paid parents versus investing a lot more in teachers who can make up for the effect of family poverty on academic attainment?

What a colossal waste of time & energy. St George's flag has nothing to do with English culture unless you consider racism to be a basic component of it. Having said that, I would choose the Spitfire which was used to fight fascism.
