Despite Jota coming back, we're definitely weaker at the end of the window than when we entered.
Hopefully some incomings over the weekend!

Yeah in hindsight great points.
There were definitely more points left on the table this campaign that we might not get so lucky with in future.
For 11 points it was 99%, and Dinamo Zagreb got knocked out with 11 π€―

How crucial was that Idah winner against Young Boys?
Many predicted 10 or 11 points would guarantee progress to the playoffs this year before the tournament kicked off.
Drawing that match 0-0 against Young Boys would have seen us knocked out this year with 10 points.
πͺπ Reinforcements Incoming?
Jota is signed and training already, Tierneyβs loan move is reportedly being negotiated, and talks with Brondby over Mathias Kvistgaarden are reportedly ongoing.
We'll hopefully see a strengthened squad for the knockout round against either Bayern or Madrid.
π UCL Draw Incoming
We now face a glamour tie against Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, two European giants leading their domestic leagues and serious contenders for the trophy.
A massive challenge ahead with the draw on Friday.
π°π Exceeding Expectations
We progress when many thought it was beyond us!
Transfermarkt ranks us 4th in UCL teams outperforming their market value. A huge achievement considering the competitive nature of this new format this year.
β½β½ Idah Steps Up
With Idah the 1st, and only realistic choice striker at the moment, his two goals last night against top opposition in Aston Villa add to his confidence after being key in the late winner against Young Boys last week.
Hopefully a decent run for him now in the upcoming games.
π§ Squad Depth Concerns
Injuries and suspensions to CCV & Maeda, then losing Kyogo not ideal.
Starting Yang, bringing on Palma & Murray, and handing Cummings a debut in the second half of a UCL game highlights the need for reinforcements before the transfer window shuts in the next 48 hours.
ππ UCL Group Phase Ends
π£Aston Villa 4-2 Celtic π’
Not the result many expected. We competed well, showed great resilience to fight back from a poor start, and Idah took his chances well to make it 2-2.
Second half was tougher, but we were still in it until the end.
He's moved 6k miles from home as well to join us. Been a massive success and he maybe fancies one more challenge in Europe before going back to Japan.
What a signing he's been! π
Albeit Google translated, but his official interview seems to confirm what Rodgers said - looking for a new challenge in a top league potentially to help Japan chances for the next World Cup;
π¬ "After some great years with Celtic, I was looking for a new challenge in a recognised championship."
π―π΅βοΈ Kyogo Joins Rennes
Stade Rennais have officially announced Kyogo who leaves for a rumoured Β£10m fee!
Going to miss the wee man but with him all the best after everything he's given Celtic over the past 3.5 years π
Buzzing! ππ
Locked in for his prime years as well!
KT next hopefully!
What a welcome he's going to get on his first game back!
Hopefully not too far away from full fitness, despite the lack of game time, and gets back to his old ways in no-time!
Locked in for his prime years as well π
π΅πΉβ Welcome Home Jota!
5-and-a-half more years with the Superstar from Portugal π
π¬ βIβm so excited. The last year-and-a-half has had its ups and downs, but thatβs life and thatβs how football is. Now I just canβt wait to work hard, to get along with the lads again and just to flow."
You'd think that losing our top striker in the tail end of January that a ready-made replacement has been lined up and ready to join over the next 48 hours!
The writing has been on the wall since Kyogo signed with the new agents last year that his time was limited.
βοΈ Kyo-going Kyo-gone?
Will be gutted to see Kyogo leave!
One of the first big arrivals of the new Ange era, an unknown when he joined but has become a fans favourite at the club and will be fondly remembered.
Big goals in big games and heads to France with plenty of silverware!

One of the most pleasing aspects of this year's campaign is that we have been competitive in many games until the end.
Atalanta, Club Brugge, Dinamo Zagreb, Young Boys all tight games that we had the chance to win in the final minutes if the opportunity came.
Last night it did!

Feel that Dortmund game was a bit of a wake-up call / turning point for him and the team to be a bit more pragmatic at this level.
Rewarding us now for sure! π

π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ Celtic are now unbeaten in 4 UCL matches, which is their longest unbeaten run in the top tier of European football since October 1986

Definitely progress being made finally! π
Overall we've been competitive in most games, which is pleasing to see for a change! Media had us down as whipping boys again before a ball was kicked.
Agreed, just feels like a wasted opportunity to have sealed that tonight.
Would take a point away like tonight anytime, over our normal away performances! π
