I'm certainly leaning that way. I think it suits my taste and I think hers

There's room in the dining for the kids, and what appears to have a balcony. And I think you're overlooking the fact that 2 separate areas to socialise can be important as kids get older.
But in the end I don't think either of us is right or wrong it's a matter of what suits each individual family

It's a 3 bedroom family home. 2 separate public areas are useful/needed as children grow up.
And some of us like cooking pungent dishes and shutting off the kitchen is desirable.

On our way south from Napier we stopped at the Pekapeka wetlands and went for a short walk. Saw a white faced heron, matuku moana, as it hopped out of the reeds onto the boardwalk to watch for prey

I remember our phone number from when I was 5, but as it was 2 digits and a letter...

Really enjoyed the first in the series "The formidable Miss Cassidy" set in 1890s Singapore with elements of traditional folklore.

The quilt was finally finished and gifted. And it was a success, so yay for "commissions " for friends who know what they want and can express it.
