What those values should be idk. But it could limit the cynical democratic process of getting your proposition in when only your water voters would vote. But it would allow for important things that everyone wants to have a chance to get on the ballot if speed is necessary

I think it would be interesting to make the signature requirement be inversely proportional to the historic vote counts in elections. So for presidential elections you would be required to gather fewer signatures compared to the amount you would need for a 1 off recall.

@joelengardio.bsky.social had the courage to let San Franciscans decide the future of our coast. Sunset Dunes is already one of the city’s most popular parks, bringing joy to tens of thousands of people every week.

I do think the SF democratic party and elected officials failed Joel and SF politics as a whole. They should have come forcefully against the recall.

I fear we will now see more strategically timed recalls with the goal of one off elections and having reduced turnout because of this.

I enjoy their logical inconsistency. This means that they shouldn't care about any other buildings being built because the Fontana Towers were built and ruined the city.

I have been wishing for this since forever. Glad to see some change is happening now.
