Soshiro can feel his eyes getting warmer. If Narumi feels his shirt is getting wet, he doesn't say anything about it.

he stopped himself thanking Gen. He knows Gen doesn't want it.

It looks like Soshiro just said his thoughts out loud.

"Gen-san." Soshiro called again. Gen hummed, and pulled Soshiro closer. Let him lean on Gen's chest, listening to Gen's heartbeat.

He can feels a hand caressing his hair, a kiss planted on his forehead, and a voice calls his name tenderly.

"Soshiro. It's okay. You're safe."

The hand slowly went lower, intertwined their fingers together.

Soshiro turns his face to the person beside him. The flower like pupil saw through him in the dark, glowing slightly.

"Gen-san." Soshiro calls him.
"I'm here. You're here. We're okay." Gen answered.

"Soshiro."

Soshiro gasped, his instincts screamed to jump out of the bed, punching the voice that haunts him. Taunting his weakness. Make him doubt himself.

Alas, it's just a dream.

"Soshiro."
A hand grabs his wrist. Grounding him to reality.

Hoshina groaned, while Narumi chuckles.

"I hate this..." Hoshina grumbled. He didn't specify what he hates. Although, Narumi seems to get it.
"Yeah, I know. Now, let's spar. You love to spar with me right, Vice Captain Hoshina?"

Of course, Hoshina loves a strong guy after all.

The case makes a loud sound when put on the ground.

"Your suit..."
"Just unsealed it today. I still need to adjust it.
Anyway, Hoshina. Spar with me."

Before hoshina can answer, No.10 screams, "HOSHINA, HE LOOKS STRONG! LET'S FIGHT HIM!!"

He feels he can breathe again. The voice that calls his name, narumi, entering the room.

Hoshina blinks. Narumi is wearing his No.1 suits. The one that has been sealed up for many years up to this day.

Hoshina closes his eyes. He really wants to just stop and be done for today. But, he can't.
This is his only place. The only thing he can do.

As the cherry on top, No. 10 doesn't listen to his command. Again. As usual.

"HOSHINA! LET'S FIGHT!"

Hoshina grit his teeth. Holding himself to not lose his composure. Beside No.10, Okonogi voice warning him, "Vice Captain, your sync rate is dropping!" can be heard.

Another day, another sync test with No.10.

This is just not a good day for hoshina. He has unfinished paperwork, some training with subordinates to be scheduled, his family calling him non stop with some bullshit on "why on earth you want to hold a numbered weapon?!"

Between yelling and smiling, narumi did take a look at hoshina's document and sign it quickly, even give notes for the next person.

"There, now go away, okappa. You're distracting me."
"Aww, do you miss me, cap?"

Before narumi can shout again, hoshina turn his back laughing.

Narumi looks like an angry wet cat yelling at the top of his lungs and Hoshina who calmly smiles while answering with a sharp tongue.

They continue like that in the middle of Ariake's hallway. Not bothered with bystander gazes.
