I hear ya! I got into that loop pretty early on + now I’m back on track w/ the main story. I’ve been enjoying how each island is its own vignette—makes progressing through it easier as I’ve been taking it in chunks, which has allowed me to enjoy it over a longer period of time 😊

Good morning, Matt! I’ve been on the DQ7R grind myself 🤗 I’m nearing the end (probably still have many more hours in front of me—let’s be real) + it’s been such a blast!

Word spread pretty quickly as we live in a very small, very rural town, so eventually his grandma called mine (they were friends growing up as well) + said “I hear that we’re connected for life now—your granddaughter’s name has been branded on my grandson’s butt” 🫣

I tried multiple times to stop him, including the next morning when everyone was sober (probably didn’t help that my other best friend was hyping him up both when drunk + when sober), but he kept saying he was “a man of his word” so I eventually settled on paying for the tattoo 😂

Two nights before I moved to Buffalo NY for college I was out drinking w/ a group of friends + my best friend proclaimed that he wanted my name on him forever (as if I was off to war w/ no hope to ever return)

Tell me a random fact about yourself that sounds fake, but it’s 100% true:

One of my childhood best friends had my name (written in my own handwriting) professionally tattooed on his left buttcheek

I come from a long line of proud union steelworkers—Both of my grandpas were electricians who worked underground in various iron ore mines w/ one advancing into a government position where he inspected mines nationwide + updated/enforced safety regulations

I grew up w/ dogs my whole life (but somehow turned into a crazy cat lady???) + sadly had to say goodbye to my last childhood dog only a few months ago 🥺

I’m about 70% through the main story, so should be wrapping it up in the next few days 🤗 It’s been very fun + look forward to 1-3 remakes in the future 👀

Paradise Killer was probably my fave of last month (along w/ E33). I was a big fan of Promise Mascot Agency + LOVE the Danganronpa style w/ Ace Attorney vibes

Obra Dinn was VERY COOL—I had played games inspired by it (Golden Idol) + really enjoyed it. Definitely difficult at times, but would love a sequel (or more games of this genre in general)

CS + CS2 were SURPRISE hits for me—Usually not my vibe w/ sci-fi, but DAMN WERE THEY BOTH GOOD. CS was included with PS+ so I took the leap + then immediately bought the second after rolling credits. SO GOOD!

I’ve noticed that focusing on one longer title while supplementing w/ shorter titles at night (or when I need a break from the JRPG grind) has not only helped me avoid burnout w/ gaming, but has also been GREAT for clearing out my backlog 🙌🏻
