Former Marine Sgt. Brian McGuinness stood up in Congress to say what millions of Americans are thinking: We don’t want to fight a war with Iran for Israel.
Security dragged him out and broke his arm. Veterans are speaking out. The American people don’t want this war.

A screenshot of terrain from satellite imaging on the OnX hunt platform. On the left, a section of land with a harvested field adjacent to a wetland and surrounding slough is labeled "Living Trust" with a name blocked out in pink, and a duck hunting waypoint is denoted in orange. On the right side of the screen, abutting farmland bordered in orange to denote property lines reads "Living Corinne Arnold Trust." A waypoint across the fence line/property line is bright blue and shaped like scat.

For the low, low price of $300 USD*, I will personally fling the contents of your hermetically-sealed bags of feces across a barbed-wire fence and onto farmland held in trust by Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Arnold Noem's maternal family. πŸ’©

As the American state crumbles by the hour & my future safety/well-being here as an openly queer, outspoken leftist ecologist looks increasingly bleak, precarious, & fraught with unnecessary state censorship, violence, and impoverishment, now's a great time to announce my latest business endeavor! 🧡

Mmm, such an excellent word. Reminds me of my all-time favorite meme:

March’s full moon, rising on 3rd March, is called the Worm Moon or the Sap Moon. As the soil warms, earthworms emerge, and plants stir as sap rises and buds begin to unfurl. This year’s March Moon is especially notable as it coincides with a total lunar eclipse in the night sky.

The hole in the ozone layer was actually very serious and a global effort allowed it to recover. Y2K WAS actually a serious problem and people worked countless hours to make sure nobody even noticed. Air and water pollution was catastrophic in many places and incredible effort reversed that damage.

America’s teachers are working two jobs and barely getting by | CNN Business Ashley loves her day job teaching math, reading and science to fifth-graders in Washington. But like many other teachers, Ashley relies on a side hustle or two to get by.

The overwhelming majority of American public school teachers (71%) hold at least one side job, according to a new survey released today.

One of the biggest problems with having a perpetual imperialist war machine is that "our leaders lied us into a war again" should be considered a crime that permanently ends the freedom of everyone involved but instead ends up just being background noise.

This is all to say that I'm TOTALLY functioning normally w/a well-regulated nervous system that's able to sleep, eat, & think normally right now. Zero insomnia whatsoever. Not at all worried about how I'm ~95% sure my cousin (active duty USAF major) and his unit are already across the pond.

Vicki was a Navy nurse who served on the USNS Comfort during the Gulf War during Desert Storm back in 1990-1991. Her hubs, Barry, was an Army internist who also served in Germany and the Persian Gulf during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and had a long career in internal medicine + admin with the VA.

Since starting my postdoc post-DOGE on May 19, 2025, I've split my time between working remotely from Lyons, SD as live-in caregiver for my dad's mom, Gail, the widow of a Korean War USMC vet, and working on campus at UNL while renting a basement bedroom from my mom's mom's 1st cousin, Vicki.

My boyfriend is a purple heart Afghan War vet who served with the SoDak Army Nat'l Guard's 221th Engineer Company @ FOB Sharana back in '09-'10, where he swept for landmines + IEDs in a Husky VMMD MRAP. He still has PTSD + tinnitus from the explosions & sleeps w/a box fan.

Going from "gambling is a moral stain and must be illegal" to "betting on whether people will be bombed before or after 6pm Saturday is perfectly normal" is one hell of a societal whiplash.

A really difficult aspect of leftist organizing in the US is that we rarely have the funds to institutionalize our movements, and as a consequence our wisdom is rarely institutionalized and preserved.

It's hard watching this happen over and over again when it comes to talking about war.

Oh and just remember - once you’ve decided a minority’s human rights are up for debate, you’ve decided HUMAN RIGHTS ARE UP FOR DEBATE.

To everybody who framed all of this as β€œThe Trans Debate,” well done! You’ve opened the door to The Anybody Debate.

For years we said they’re going for a genocide of trans people and for years we were told to β€œstop being so dramatic.”

Now we’re at the point of human experimentation with the explicit goal of eradicating us.

Can we call the genocide a fucking genocide now?

And also it's not fair to expect the people who are victims of our imperialism to make that distinction. Because they only know that those are the people holding guns on them.

And that is why if you really support our troops, you oppose sending them to kill and die in imperialist wars.
