Today, I sent a formal letter to Senators @AlexPadilla4CA and @SenSchiff urging them to withhold their blue slip and stop the confirmation of Bill Essayli as U.S. Attorney. He has shown a pattern of political retaliation and targeting vulnerable communities.

Working diligently to work with my colleagues to produce not only a fiscally balanced budget, but also a morally balanced one. The May revise is not a reflection of the California I have grown to know.

When a state is forced to reduce spending, the first priority must be to keep the population stable to prevent greater costs in the future. Housing, food, health, education, and childcare programs must be preserved.
