Today, I sent a formal letter to Senators @AlexPadilla4CA and @SenSchiff urging them to withhold their blue slip and stop the confirmation of Bill Essayli as U.S. Attorney. He has shown a pattern of political retaliation and targeting vulnerable communities.

Working diligently to work with my colleagues to produce not only a fiscally balanced budget, but also a morally balanced one. The May revise is not a reflection of the California I have grown to know.

California stands with our South African brothers and sisters against the disrespectful and false attacks from Trump.

Child Care Provider:

"California is the 4th largest economy in the world, but the budget proposal says that Childcare is optional."

We need better priorities.

When a state is forced to reduce spending, the first priority must be to keep the population stable to prevent greater costs in the future. Housing, food, health, education, and childcare programs must be preserved.

Budget Red Flag: Cuts to programs, but no cuts to corporate tax credits.
