β€œFewer than 1 in 10 older adults w advanced cancer in the trial [in USA] prioritized extending survival over maintaining QoL.
Pt preference for extending survival or maintaining QoL was not assoctd with up-front treatment modifications or downstream outcomes”

So were pt preferences being ignored?

With some incredible actuarial input from the team at Scottish Widows we have launched a projection of cancer prevalence in the UK for 2045.

A 58% increase. 5.4 million people living with or beyond cancer.

A combination of ageing, rising incidence and better treatments accounting for the rise.

There is an acute need to improve how we support cancer survivors & return QOL in #survonc.

Example: Many #AYAC have unmet needs, particularly related to work & school. Vocational counseling can help!

New report reveals that the majority of people with late effects can't access specialist services due to limited availability across the UK.
