Tonight’s New Avengers is The Tale of the Big Why. Borrowing the setup from not one but two series 1 episodes of The Avengers.

Back in the day some fans considered this the best of the series but finding it a bit flat this time

Enemy 1 is a superb episode but I can why they went with a monster episode!

The things you could get away with in the 90s

I knew Gambit had to be cut right down to fit the running time, but didn’t appreciate how much!

Nothing drastic or story altering, but the establishing shots would have been nice and some of the cuts between scenes would have been less abrupt!

I’m glad this got cut. As broadcast the first pursuit ship sends a signal and I’ve always taken this to be Travis sending the coordinates to the aliens.

But as planned it was exactly as Travis says earlier, he’s summoning back up. Which considering events next week, doesn’t make much sense!
