We're in the Orbanization of our media system now. It's happening.

CNN's Brian Stelter drew this assessment from GΓ‘bor Scheiring, "who experienced Viktor OrbΓ‘n's autocratic power plays in Hungary firsthand as a member of the Hungarian parliament." view.newsletters.cnn.com/messages/175...

The monitoring station on Mauna Loa provides the longest direct measurements of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Trump wants to shut it down, which is like taking the batteries out of your screaming smoke alarm and pretending the house isn't on fire. #climatechange

There are 2 previous historical cases of countries destroying their science and universities, crippling them for decades: Lysenkoism in the USSR and Nazi Germany. The Trump administration will be the 3rd.
It's not just budgets but research, institutions, expertise, and training the next generation.

β€œIn a matter of weeks, many Pennsylvanians will see their bills increased by as much as 15%. This is due in large part to our overreliance on fracked gas for more than half of our energy production,” Patrick McDonnell, CEO of PennFuture.

In the 1980s, the US experienced one billion-plus dollar extreme weather disaster on average every 4 months.

Today? There’s one every 2 weeks, and 9 in 10 Americans say they’ve felt the impacts.

Clearly, this is the record to cutβ€”if you don’t want to show how climate change is hitting home.

Energy is not the only sector now creating more carbon costs than the value of the companies.

This seems totally insane until you consider that continually increasing temperatures will collapse food, housing, human society and of course our economic system.

It's the definition of "unsustainable."

Senate votes to overturn EPA rule that limits 7 hazardous air pollutants The party-line vote marked the first time in the 55-year history of the Clean Air Act that Congress has moved to weaken the power of the landmark environmental law.

Since you breathe air, making sure you saw that 52 Republican Senators voted yesterday to put more toxic chemicals in it. The first time congress has voted to weaken the Clean Air Act in its 55 year history.

OTOH, it's good news for all the people who don't breath air. You know: Corporations.

Let’s be clear β€” Trump is nothing more than a shill for the oil industry.

He says he’s for energy independence, but he’s not. He’s for oil dependence. And killing off any alternative.

During Trump 1.0, California led the fight to protect our environment.

And we’re going to again.

Trump Just Did the Most Corrupt Thing Any President Has Ever Done He’s using the White House to get rich from anonymous investorsβ€”and it’s hardly even a news story.

This doesn’t create the β€œappearance” of corruption or set up the β€œpotential” for conflict of interest. It is corruption, and it’s a standing conflict of interest. Patently, and historically.

Trump's fossil fuel bosses are losing marketshare to clean energy because their product is inferior... and also killing us.

"For at least 600 yrs, residents marked the depth of winter by celebrating a natural phenomenon revered as the trail of a wandering god. But ...for the past 7 winters, the Miwatari has failed to appear because the lake didn’t freeze. This has happened only once before, half a millennium ago."

NOAA Staffing Cuts Threaten Years of Salmon Harvests (Gift Article) In Washington, where salmon is a multibillion dollar industry, government staff terminations and budget freezes may put salmon production at risk.

Almost a dozen hatcheries in Puget Sound are in limbo because a single NOAA employee was terminated by DOGE in February.

That employee was Krista Finlay and her job at NOAA was to ensure hatcheries complied with the Endangered Species Act before the fish were released into Puget Sound.
