Jesus christ. These poor students. Once again, where the fuck was TEQSA?? How can a regulator continue to fail over and over again like they have?

Just four years after abortion was decriminalised in SA, anti-choice politicians want to roll back access, making it harder to get care after 23 weeks.

Sign the petition before October 15 to help keep medical decisions between patients and their doctors.

This is such great news from QLD. Massive congrats to the legendary advocates who have pushed for a sexual violence peak body for so long!

The social media ban is the 2025 version of telling women not to walk alone at night. We're regulating the behaviour of victims and potential victims, instead of addressing the people causing the harm

Cool cool cool.

So... why do we bend over backwards for these disgusting eco-killing companies again?? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

Housing in Australia is a hellscape. An actual living nightmare. We've commodified a human right to the point that it's become unattainable for almost everyone except wealthy investors & no real solutions are even being considered. How are we not rioting in the streets?

I'm sitting here without gas or hot water for the 4th time in 3 weeks, having attended 6 rental inspections over the past 3 days that have all been attended by at least 20 other people & then having to hand over a scary amount of personal & financial info to 3rd party websites to submit applications

I pay an exorbitant amount of rent for an apartment with 3 rooms (bedroom, bathroom/laundry, living/dining/kitchen), where the gas & hot water go out whenever the wind gets over 10km/h & there's no affordable places left in Adelaide to move to & buying is about to become even more unattainable πŸ™ƒ

Absolutely massive. Sending much love and strength to Raya Meredith, the lead plaintiff in this case, who was subjected to horrific behaviour at the hands of police.

Redfern Legal have, once again, done brilliant work. You can help them do more of it by donating here: rlc.org.au/donate

This isn't an "inappropriate relationship". Adults cannot have sexual relationships with children. This is the persistent sexual abuse of a child.

It's such a bizarre way to address problems, isn't it? An endless cycle of expensive reviews and inquiries, all of which are ignored in the hope that no real work or change has to occur.

How much did UTS spend on the FOUR reviews into their handling of sexual assault reports since 2022?

What did it cost for them to do not one, not two, not three, but FOUR reviews in three years, just to ignore the recommendations and continue causing harm to their students?

Sending strength and solidarity to Mia Campbell, Hailey, Holly and other students who have been impacted by UTS's deliberate indifference. You deserve better.

Shame on you, University of Technology Sydney.

University of Technology Sydney has shown none of those things in its responses to students - and an endless cycle of reviews won't change that when it simply chooses to ignore recommendations and responds to being called out with pathetic mealy-mouthed statements.

Responding to students who report gender-based violence in a manner that is trauma-informed, fair, and that supports them to successfully continue their education isn't hard. It was never hard. It's only ever required understanding, flexibility, and simple decency

University of Technology Sydney is one of many universities in Australia that have spent the past decade telling us that they take sexual assault and sexual harassment #VerySeriously, while student victim-survivors experience the complete opposite when they report incidents

"This process is failing, it's re-traumatised people who've reported, and it's completely unfair."

"I honestly at times regret even reporting."

"They have the report, but they are refusing to release it to me."

This is why we fought so hard, for so many years, for reforms like the NSO

I had a bad identity theft within weeks of the last time I applied for rental properties. Always thought it was from either an agent or 1Form. They had enough to make 3 forms of fake ID including a drivers license

Being a renter in Australia means handing over an unnecessary amount of personal data to real estate agents who have no clue - and who often don't care - how to keep that data secure. Many can't tell you how it's stored, who can access it and when/if it gets destroyed

Copies of multiple forms of ID, address history, employment history, and financial information that was about what I had to provide for a mortgage application. Then, once you become a tenant, they take photos of the property and all your possessions during inspections
