Just realized that I have not had this so called "art block" for well over a year now that the word itself sounds foreign. I'm collapsing under the weight of so many fun comic ideas and not enough time to execute all of them. I love drawing so much. I want to draw forever. I am completely in love.

Ngl it really is!

I now find myself constantly having to erase details/ redraw with less details to make things more readable. It's a strange feeling but for the first time in a long time I feel very focused in getting those "readable manga lines" somehow AHHHHHH Gonna be a long journey!✨

I realize that the most effective and appealing manga panels use them pretty sparingly. I always do that angry crying meme face because it's frustrating how those masters can make such beautiful panels with minimal lines 😂 Every time! How do they do it! But I really like hatching...

In my search for "lines that can stand on their own," I realize that I have a tendency to add a ton of details (hatching, etc.) This is very "easy" because I don't have to think about what to include/exclude. However, this is hardly cost effective and doesn't exactly achieve what I really want.

It felt like an absolute miracle that I was recommended by a friend out of nowhere like that. It's that sense of wonder of the universe's beauty---that feeling I'd been looking for ever since I finished Outer Wilds and it's gonna stick with me for a long time. I always need more of that stuff! 💖

I remember expressing the sentiment of "wanting to gaze upon the night sky in awe" after finishing ch.5 of R1999. Coincidentally, a friend recommended the Orb (チ。) anime. Finished it, and I felt like it's one of the best things to ever happen to me... and I get it now.🥺
