Anyway, happy covid anniversary to me.

More people are claiming disability benefits because more people are sick. It is that simple.

At the very same time that 1.3 million people in the UK reported having had long covid for over year.

For a time, the news seemed terribly interested in the missing million workers in the UK. Asking night after night on television, who are these economically inactive people? Where have they gone?

I do know, however, that deep cuts to disability benefits are cruel and senseless.

Much of the ways we become ill or disabled feel beyond sense-making.

And I wish I had some profound take-home message about it. I don't.

It's coming up to five years of me having long covid, and I've been thinking about it a lot recently. I cannot even begin to express how life changing this illness has been.
