PRESS RELEASE: Secretary Fontes Secures Key Election Funding to Protect Arizona Voters Ahead of 2026 Cycle

Arizona voters deserve better from the Department of Homeland Security and my office will continue seeking answers as we gear up for the 2026 election.

This is a critical annual meeting that provides the opportunity for education and information sharing regarding rural community issues.

Secretary Fontes had the opportunity to sit down with Project CENTRL, a free non-profit leadership program that does outreach to mostly rural Arizona. They discussed why he ran for office and relevant information about the upcoming elections.

Thank you to Mayor Ann Shaw and Vice Mayor Felicia Coates for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share AZ America250 initiatives and discuss ways to collaborate together with Cottonwood.

We continue to work collaboratively with county and city leaders to celebrate Arizona’s part in 250 years.

Conversations such as these are important to provide education and resources for Arizonans.

Such an amazing and educational conversation at the League of Women Voters of Northern Arizona event in Cottonwood. The discussion included talks of preparation for the election year, fighting voter suppression efforts in Arizona, and ways to continue to support civic engagement.

Secretary Fontes sat down with the Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to discuss ways to empower their community in civic engagement, honoring the legacy of those who fought for equal access of the right to vote for future generations.

Honoring the metal that put Arizona on the map at the Arizona Copper Art Museum in Clarkdale. Secretary Fontes explored this great museum and discuss AZ America250 opportunities to support historical, cultural, and community engagement efforts across Arizona.

PRESS RELEASE: Statement from Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes on FBI Midterm Elections Briefing

This Black History Month, make sure your voice will be heard in the 2026 midterm election by registering to vote at azsos.gov.

When Black Americans cast their ballots, they are protecting and building a future where justice is the right of all people. The fight for social justice has always been closely tied to the right to vote and always will be.

Secretary Fontes had the opportunity to share lunch with students from the NAU for the online Election Administration Certification. This meeting provided an opportunity for discussion about the current election year and how to we can best prepare to safeguard and support democratic processes.
