Today, Freya experienced a sudden medical crisis. I found her lying limp and barely responsive. When we got her to the vet, her pulse, BP, and blood sugar were all dangerously low. Vet said if we'd waited an hour, she might not have survived.

The few staff who exist and have experience are spread horrifically thin across far too many titles and other projects and expectations. There are so many projects, how to make every single one stand out is another challenge and a bigger issue that needs to be examined.

This is the core of the problem and the attitude within publishing of all sorts. There isn't enough $ overall, marketing/publicity are derided, devalued, & misunderstood, and the first to be cut. We don't have enough resources, period. Even if they suddenly threw $, the infrstructure is lacking.
