Just got jump scared by the emergency alert from the government going off on my phone!

School will be closed tomorrow due to the red weather warning, courtesy of Storm Éowyn, so I’m heading home for an unexpected long weekend!

Good morning, Bluesky! I have been awake since 3.40AM for no good reason and I have to write data-heavy reports on my exam class this morning. I can drink Coke before 8AM, right?

Ugh, this week is already too much and it’s only Tuesday. Please can tomorrow just be a quiet, simple day where I get to teach my classes and write my reports.

It flips between the witches, the Watch, and Death, mostly depending on which book I’ve read most recently. But then my all-time favourite is Small Gods which isn’t any of those. So….🤷🏻‍♀️

Accidentally shooting a witch in the head with a bow and arrow because I thought she was a magical deer.

The Niece and her fiancé brought the baby over to visit for the first time, so I got to spend the last hour cuddling a newborn. Such a tiny yet solid little bundle. He makes the best grumpy noises! 🥰

(Took until now to try it as I had to acquire distilled water for it.)

Testing out the new facial steamer I got as a Christmas present, and I think I like this! Seems a bit extra but it’s so soothing.

Spent the afternoon doing laundry, cleaning my room, emptying and disinfecting the litter tray, sorting and taking out the recycling, and emptying all the bins and taking the rubbish out. Not nearly as fun as last Saturday, but I do feel a definite sense of satisfaction now it’s done.

Uncertainty is so so hard to deal with. 💜💜💜💜💜

A lot of people seem to really like it. I find it really hard to use, confusing and impossible to follow conversations on.

Made it through 1st day back (no students today, just staff meetings and trainings). Sadly a colleague died on Friday so morning sessions were cancelled apart from a brief meeting to share the sad news and supports available. I didn’t know him particularly well but he was always kind and friendly.

It is currently 1C here and not expected to get above 3C today. I am wearing all the cosy things.

It is a) cold, b) dark, and c) early. Consider this my official complaint! On a bus and heading to school. Here we go again!
