In art this half term, Year 6 are learning about the Impressionist style of artwork. They have explored work by Monet and have tried to recreate it through using short, thick brushstrokes and layering different colours of paint.

Each class is going to invite you to come to their class assembly.
First up is Reception, who would like to invite parents to their assembly on Friday 13th February at 2.40pm. They are looking forward to sharing their exciting learning from the last half term with you.

We are delighted to share that we have received a fantastic donation of scooters from Boss Fabrication. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support shown by this company, which will make a wonderful difference to our pupils’ playtimes. Thank you to Boss Fabrication.

Year 4 are going to be focussing their learning around 'Design' this half term. They've spent time understanding the meaning of design in Art and focussing on some of the elements of Art: colour, light and line to mention a few. We began to understand that Matisse considered design by using cut outs

In Year 1, we are learning all about the United Kingdom. This week, our focus has been on the country of Wales. The children were able to identify the Welsh flag and confidently recall the capital city, Cardiff.

This Friday, Friday 9th January children from the winning house for last half term will be invited to attend an extra playtime with edible treat.

The winning house for last half term was BLUE, achieving 631 House Points.

There's still time to drop your cards off - the last day for collection will be Thursday 18th.

We are thrilled to celebrate our fifth anniversary with Times Table Rock Stars, an incredible app that has revolutionised the way children approach mathematics. TTRS is accessible both at school and at home, it has been instrumental in boosting children's confidence in their mathematical abilities.

This week in nursery we have started our countdown to Christmas with our interactive calendar, every day the children are taking turns opening the window and discovering what activity we will be doing, we have already delivered presents across the world and shared new stories.

Last week our learners in nursery became boat builders! Using recycled materials like bottles, boxes and foil, the children designed their very own boats. There were some moments of joy as some successfully took passengers and some giggles as others turned into a soggy mess sinking to the bottom!

Don't forget flu vaccinations will be taking place on Monday 1st December. If you haven't already please complete the E-consent form sent out on November 11th.

Tomorrow is the Year 3 trip to Flag Fen Archaeology Park . The children will need to be at school for 8:35am as we will be leaving at 9:00am. The children are due back at approximately 3:15pm so please pick your child up straight from the bus at Furrowfields carpark.
