GMTU Bans Whistleblowers. Jamil Keeting continued to represent GMTU for a year afyer the committee became aware of multiple accusations of rape and spiking. One victim relapsed into drug addiction and died of an overdose three months later. Jamil still remained in his position. Upon raising this as a safeguarding concern, through an external organisation, the person who raised it was banned from all chats, drawing false equivalence. This was a concern because Jamil was due to represent GMTU on a panel with people deeply involved in youth work. After this action was taken, as we understand it, GMTU chair and friend of Jamil, Muel, instructed the admin to lock chats without explanation, preventing others from speaking up. Muel also publicly defends Sophie "from Mars" McAllister who has numerous allegations of rape and abuse. We refuse to enable rape apology. If we are silenced in chats we shall leaflet meetings.
