1 - Absolutely not
2 - 2-3 years at least but I have a sneaking suspicion he will be traded in the summer for a 2c
That being said, they still need a 2C so that needs to be taken care of in the off-season.
08.03.2025 17:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Also, it allows Hugo to evaluate their own players in a stretch run. Finally, Based on media avail yesterday, it looked like the players were ecstatic with the deadline and werenβt the least bit upset about not adding.
08.03.2025 17:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So they kept their promise to the players that they wouldnβt sell if they accomplished the goal which they did. They sacrificed assets (the return on Armia/Dvo/Savard) so no need to sacrifice more.
08.03.2025 17:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@lori10habs.bsky.social Great article although I disagree with the theory that #Habs should have bought something small. It seems Hugo wanted to be in the mix this year which they clearly are. I donβt think they care if they make the playoffs and it looks like they donβt think we will (neither do I)
08.03.2025 17:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@bwildemtl.bsky.social. I was just thinking about this this and wondering what the update was so thanks for providing. Actually, starting to believe they will make the playoffs this year.
22.01.2025 15:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Since they already cleared waivers this year they have 10 games or 30 days before having to clear so that shouldnβt impact the decision.#Habs have a lot of good options (RHP or Davidson if I had to choose)
15.01.2025 13:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very good recap @jdlagrange.bsky.social. I would add Lane Hutson's name to important RFA's after next season. Also, I am not sure why Price's contract ending would give the #Habs less flexibility. His 10.5 comes off the books so they will have more space then they are currently using (~7.3 million).
13.01.2025 15:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs helpful but itβs kind of what I meant. Because of where the puck was going (around the boards) the wash player was most likely to get there first (which he did).
11.01.2025 20:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0To the face off dot
11.01.2025 17:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Agreed. Wash player got there first and was on the side where the puck was going
11.01.2025 17:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@jdlagrange.bsky.social if they are legitimately in the mix, I think all of them stay other than maybe Pezzetta who they may trade to give him a chance to play.

I like
Hutson-Guhle
Matheson-Carrier
Xhekaj-Savard
Even though Guhle is on his off side
That being said, we all know development isnβt linear and 20 year olds take steps back so I think itβs just that.
15.12.2024 15:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good read as always @bwildemtl.bsky.social. re:Slaf itβs odd to me that he no longer does the same things he was doing the last half of last year(great forecheck, winning battles with his size, great passing and a good shot). We saw him do it so we know he can. He just isnβt.
15.12.2024 15:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It helps when you can pick who gets the breakawaysπ
10.12.2024 12:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Neither. They should let Dach play 2nd line centre for the rest of the year and let the chips fall where they may regarding the draft. They need to figure out if he is that 2nd line centre they need or if they have to find a new one.
07.12.2024 15:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great read Brian, as usual. Even though they played well and won both #Habs did not score at 5v5. Something to keep an eye on.
06.12.2024 13:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed but I donβt think this rebuild is typical so Iβm not sure what the regular timeline for better results would be. Iβm still optimistic but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
03.12.2024 13:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So even though they did have a head start with players like Suzuki and Canfield I find it hard to say the rebuild started in 2018.
03.12.2024 13:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I like this article but I think itβs missing one point. The first few years after the start of the rebuild are about developing young prospects, playing them and letting them make mistakes. Winning isnβt important and kids get ice time regardless of results. That only started when St. Louis arrived.

Caufield-Suzuki-Newhook
Laine-Dach-Slaf
Andy-Evans-Gally
Heineman-Dvo-Armia
I'm curious what it means for Newhook
25.11.2024 15:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Habs fan here!
23.11.2024 15:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@mccagg.bsky.social I was at the game. he came out before the stars were announced. It was weird.
21.11.2024 03:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@bwildemtl.bsky.social Interesting article. Would trading Suzuki (not that I am for this) be the way to getting the 100 pt C. As @mccagg.bsky.social mentions most 2nd Cs winning cups don't have a lot of points so Dach, Beck, Newhook or Kapanen could fill that role if you trade Suzuki for a 100 pt C.
19.11.2024 17:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fair point. Will be interesting to see if Hugo adds veterans in the off season and if so at what price/talent point.
17.11.2024 17:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@bwildemtl.bsky.social With 4 veterans(Armia,Dvo,Evanβs and Savard) most likely leaving by end of year, I think next year May be more difficult as there will only be 3 vets left(Matheson,Anderson, Gally). What do you think?
