I was short on characters and "racism" isn't quite right, I agree, so much as xenophobia/anti-multiculturalism. But mostly I think it's all made up and she doesn't care about the spices at all, and is just cosplaying ignorance/distaste for her followers, which I agree is annoying as fuck. And gross.

Like, this feels like she was short on content & so decided to make a lil something for the xenophobic fans back home. I can't imagine that she cares what spices are in the store. It's just a lazy way to play to the audience, which imho says appalling things about both her & her audience.

My response to seeing new spices is excitement & curiosity. But if you don't want them, you can just not buy them. The spices aren't doing anything to you.

Like, my understanding from the synopsis is that the one clone kid shows that he's developed humanity b/c of found family, which means ALL of the clones can, and then our hero just... blows them all up? CHILDREN?

And in our down time we are constantly harangued about having kids and told we're letting down humankind if we don't make more of them.

I feel like it's not super great advertising to jokingly introduce a way in which your product could murder its users without then pointing out that that's not actually possible.

ALSO there's a NEW ad where Chris Hemsworth doesn't trust Alexa b/c she could kill him, & she says, "How exactly would I do that, Chris?" & he says closing the pool cover on him while he's swimming, & Alexa DOES NOT say, "I would never do that" or "My programming prevents that." She just moves on!

I already know what my nephews like, b/c I spend 10 days w/ them every winter, talk to their mom regularly, & read her posts about them. But I bet if I didn't know anything about them, Alexa could scrape the web & tell me how much they like Minecraft, Zelda, & Kitty Pig & make me look super cool.

It occurred to me that in this ad for Alexa where the woman doesn't know how to interact with her niece, one thing Alexa probably can do is scour the family's social media & learn everything about the niece's interests. Super creepy, but THAT would be a function that'd help this useless woman.
