This week in Germany, a court ruled that the rejection of three migrants at the German border violated EU law. The interior minister, supported by the chancellor, sees no reason to change his policy. The judges on the case are facing defamation and threats.

Worrying development for the rule of law.

Also maybe we need to reopen the question of multiple judgments for the CJEU? If we saw a majority reach the same outcome via varied reasoning, it could help in cases like this & boost legitimacy rather than undermine

Some people seem to dislike the Court’s reasoning in Malta but agree CBI is (morally?) wrong. If we agree the reasoning’s weak but the outcome right (which I don’t) Q = should courts pursue (what’s seems to be) policy-orientated (moral) outcomes?

On the radio people (commentaros & TD's) keep asking what deal have FF & FG cut with Lowry. Maybe they have a deal, I dunno. But this seems besides the point IMO

I am disconnected from Irish politics these days, but the speaking rights dispute seems about the long game? People keeps asking what deal they have with Lowry, but is it not also about demographic shifts: FF & FG continue to govern in the future by securing majorities in Dáil supported by IND's?

If the proposed Irish rules for warnings labels on alcoholic beverages are a barrier to the free moment of goods, undermining Cassis etc like Italy, France, & Co. argue, are the French warning labels on wine for pregnant women not equally such barriers?

I'm not saying we need highspeed rail in Ireland, or that its even fesiable, but like somthing decent would be cool. I know the brits used the trains to keep control of the Island, but like, at least there were trains to the most random places including Cahersiveen and, like, the Donegal

Irish rail could never. A full dining car that has pretty decent coffee, breakfast, lunch, & dinner while travling at 200km/hr +, not too shabby...

Ireland really needs to get its act together.
