Errupting in broken sobs, Batilda's arms moved tight around Kyle.

"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry-- I missed you...I h-hated myself for what I did and I still do..!"

"I'm so-sorry, Kyle...."

His kind-hearted gesture had finally pushed them over the edge as tears spilled forth from weary eyes. Lips parting in a moment to speak, but only a sob would come out where words couldn't yet form.

Reaching for his hand, they grasped it tight & threw themself into him. ++

"Talk..? What is there to say? The things I did, I'm not a good person, Kyle.."

"I hurt someone I cared about. I never meant to, everything was so much.. And The Jo— The J- .."

"It all hurt so bad but..That doesn't excuse hurting you.."

Sorrowful eyes catch glimpse of the ring, proof of his ability to keep himself safe -- & yet, they could only recall that events of that night, that last time they saw one another.

Batilda's throat felt dry, still quivering in his presence, with arms wrapped tight around themself in comfort. ++

HEY?

Back away from the man, they bumped into yet another table, rattling the contents atop, but thankful no further spills.

"Not after what I.. How can you even..-- Please. I don't want to hurt you..not ever again.."

His voice would finally reach Batilda's ears, causing them to stop dead in their tracks, a shiver running through them in their rising fear.

Their lower lip would begin to tremble, a battle of keeping emotions at bay.

"You shouldn't be talking to me.." They spoke meek, teetering on the edge. ++

Rapid, nervous pacing about the castle -- their distracted mind having already been the cause for knocking over several trays of fresh baked treats.

They'd been scolded twice thus far, but that weren't the cause for the familiar's uneasiness...

"I didn't mean to..."

Um..

Coughs.

I know the answers.

Sipping the punch in solidarity.
