I only skimmed the paper but the part about the half mean width left me wanting more. In effect, do you define "well-scaled LP" as "bounded mean width"? Or do you expect that there is a better definition of scaling such that the mean width property is also satisfied as a consequence?

We need a publication model with the fast turnaround of ML conferences but no attendance requirement and less reviewer lottery. I believe TMLR is part of the solution, and if you do too, come review with us!

It is a graph comparing various route-planning algorithms on the road network of Western Europe. The X axis is the preprocessing time of the graph, and the Y axis is the time taken by an individual path query after that. Both axes span several orders of magnitude along the Pareto frontier between fast queries and fast preprocessing.

The geometric interpretation I linked to on Wikipedia is quite nice, it relies on the hyperplane separation theorem which is immediately intuitive to anyone who has met a convex set.
But I don't think it beats the death metal song linked above
