It was lovely visiting HC-One Scotland’s Balnacarron Care Home with @willierennie.bsky.social yesterday. We really enjoyed meeting residents and staff, and hearing more about the fantastic services they provide.

Internet and cell phone resume in Afghanistan​ Cell phone and internet services were restored in Afghanistan on Wednesday, local residents said, some 48 hours after diplomatic and industry sources said connectivity was abruptly cut on the orders of the Taliban administration.

Labour’s plans for mandatory Digital ID cards are nothing more than an expensive gimmick. They risk excluding older people, disabled people, and those without digital access - while costing taxpayers billions.

Former Lib Dem leader and Olympic athlete Lord Campbell dies aged 84 Lord Menzies Campbell, former Liberal Democrat leader and Olympic sprinter, has died aged 84.

In North East Fife, Ming was and remains a significant figure. His contributions to our local communities, as well as to Scotland and the UK were immeasurable. I'll miss his wise counsel and our regular chats in Parliament which always kept me on my toes.

Political opinion: Chamberlain and Rennie respond to St Andrews Bank of Scotland closure North East Fife’s MP Wendy Chamberlain and MSP Willie Rennie have responded to the Bank of Scotland’s announcement that it intends to close its branch in St Andrews on January 26, 2026.

The closure of Bank of Scotland’s St Andrews branch is yet another blow to local banking services in NEF.

Access to cash and in-person banking is vital for residents and small businesses, that’s why Willie Rennie and I are pressing for banking hubs to fill the gaps.
