That's great to hear! Just recently diagnosed, and working on the meds right now.
So relieved to have a diagnosis and a plan. Really thought I was just super depressed and out of luck.

Had a hell of a time getting diagnosed with Type 2 narcolepsy. Not a lot of folks out there talking about it, so thought I'd share.
I'd been taking meds for depression since I was 19. Diagnosed with narcolepsy at 38.
She calls her naps "sideways time." Heard. I call them "going horizontal."
March's full moon (the "Worm Moon") is tonight.
There will also be a total lunar eclipse, making it a "blood" moon.
So enjoy the blood worm moon, I guess.
Gross.
honestly, this goes in the war crimes prosecution file, a pretty clear declaration that the mission is not guided by rules rooted in the law of armed conflict

Hell of a thing.
Remembering a brighter, less cynical time when I didn't understand Josh's point so well.
There are some really solid "guy living in the walls" horror movies out there.

Watching an old horror movie where the characters discover a secret passage way in a home they've lived in all their lives.
How.
I walk the perimeter of an Airbnb to make sure the outside dimensions match the inside ones before I settle in.
Who is being foolish now, @joshuaerlich.bsky.social.
Itβs been terrifying to have almost every year in the past 20 years be a lesson in how many people with power make decisions about who lives and dies with little thought or care or even a clear idea as to why theyβre doing anything, and itβs terrifying that it seems to be getting worse

The worst part of my sleep study results:
"Moderate snoring."
Right there in black and white.
I denied it my whole life and can deny no more.
. . . I remain skeptical.
I know itβs difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you canβt Do The Work when youβre starving.

I just Googled this condition - it sounds exceptionally tough.
I am def familiar with the common symptom of "nonrefreshing sleep."
I have PTSD. The quick REM cycle that accompanies narcolepsy can mean both needing a nap and knowing the nap could be a day-ruining nightmare.
How is ME/CFS treated?
There are! One of the meds used for narcolepsy I am already on for ADHD (Adderall).
But I am going to give modafinil a try in lieu of the stimulants.
It's a very specific request, but I believe in BlueSky lol
