It’s been a while!

Life pressed pause when I had to say goodbye to my gorgeous dog.

Since then there’s been a big change, I’ve stepped back into the NHS!

So here I am, ready to reconnect.

I guess the question is why do we ‘accept’ that approach? I suspect the answer may lie within the construct of #PsychologicalSafety - the belief that we are safe to take interpersonal risks without being punished or humiliated #NurseSky #SkyChat

In my role as a leadership facilitator I often encourage nurses and midwives to consider these questions

1. What kind of ‘professional ancestor’ do you want to be?

2. If people are telling stories about you and your leadership style what would you want them to be saying? #NurseSky

Collective identity is key - a shared understanding of our value and our collective power.

Couldn’t agree more - this is our ‘sweet spot’ why do we struggle to lean into that power?

If we can somehow leverage the influence principle of unity to unleash and grow nursing professional identity. We need re-discover and foster a sense of belonging, shared purpose, and collective identity within the nursing profession for many #NurseSky

We’ have the potential to be both our biggest opportunity and our biggest challenge #NurseSky

We need to create enabling conditions so that nurses feel connected to their shared identity and help galvanise a collective voice with a new narrative
