If you hand me a clock & I'm holding it as far away from my body as possible, then setting it down several steps away, your reaction should be curiosity, not assuming I'm not smart enough to operate it. I'm 100% positive this open-faced clock had radium ALL OVER IT!!!

Recently lost my mimaw. 94 years! Along that extraordinarily long life, she picked up a few watches along the way. The financial value is nothing, but the sentimental value is off the chart. I'm going to be cleaning them up, repairing what I can, I giving them back to the family: K, GK, GGK, etc.

I had originally planned to have things well under way by now, but I've had a few setbacks that have killed my creative zeal. One is the death of my 94 year old grandmother. Also, someone was supposed to give me a box of watches to work on, but they've not appeared yet.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

I feel stupid posting on a brand new account, but I have faith it'll grow.

I absolutely HATE mowing my grass, but I'm always proud when I'm done. The work I've put in the last few years really shows. Especially this early in the year when most of my neighbors haven't even cut their's once.

Ugh... Keep reminding myself that progress is progress, even if it's a single step. SO, I'm trying to teach myself watch repair/ restoration, how to organize the parts & files, AND AV for youtube all at the same time...

Picked this little gem up from the bay. No case, but that's ok. Going to be something to learn on anyway. Maybe I'll eventually stumble on a case that fits.

Having to rethink my organizational strategy & how to set up for filming. As reluctant as I was, I'm glad I moved everything to the clear shoe boxes. Allows me to include the paperwork WITH each watch rather than separately. Also, it gives me more room to put each part into its own numbered pot.
